New Delhi: Police probing last week’s acid attack on a 17-year-old girl in Dwarka’s Mohan Garden area have said that the substance was sold online by a pharmaceutical company based in Agra. Cops said they will take action against the firm for selling acid freely without following any norms. Police had earlier written to e-commerce website Flipkart, from where the main accused, 20-year-old Sachin Arora, had bought the acid bottle for Rs 600, to ascertain which company it was procured from. Police officials investigating the case said that the accused had got the acid delivered to a shop near his house to ensure his family members did not suspect anything. He had searched several websites to zoom in on easy availability and best delivery time. On Wednesday, Arora borrowed a relative’s motorcycle and obscured the number plate with black polythene. While one accused, Harshit Aggarwal (19), was accompanying him on the bike when the girl was attacked, the other suspect, Virender Singh (22), was allegedly used to mislead police about his location. All three men have been arrested. Meanwhile, the teenager continues to remain admitted at the burns and plastic surgery department of Safdarjung Hospital. According to doctors, her health has been improving steadily. “She is opening her eyes. She has vision but it is blurred in both the eyes. It will improve in due course of time. Regaining total vision depends on the ophthalmologist’s examination. Her skin is drying up but it is too early to reach any conclusion,” he said.
