GREATER NOIDA: With the arrest of two miscreants, the district police claim to have busted a gang of robbers who used to carry out a recee before targeting houses. Police have recovered $4,000 from their possession. According to the police, the accused, identified as Anwar Ali, a native of Etawah, who was residing in the Knowledge Park area of Gautam Budh Nagar, and Rakesh Upadhyay, a native of Kasganj district and was living in Beta 2 area. The duo has been arrested under sections 454 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking to commit offence punishable with imprisonment), 380 (Commits theft in any building), and 411 (Dishonestly receiving stolen property) of IPC. “Over the last several months, we have been getting complaints of house thefts and robberies, following which our team had been working towards curbing it. On Thursday, we managed to nab two miscreants following a tip-off. They were held from Domino’s roundabout area,” Anil Kumar, Station House Officer, Beta 2 police station said. The two confessed to being a part of the gang that carries out a recce and targeted flats or houses, which were vacant for a few days.
