NEW DELHI: A teenager was held for allegedly bringing a consignment of weapons for criminals in Delhi, police said. The 19-year-old, according to police, was hired by a weapon manufacturer based out of Madhya Pradesh.The accused came to the city with ten 10 semi-automatic pistols and magazines as a trial for the job. Delhi Police Special Cell, however, arrested the youth along with his handler and seized the weapons that were to be used in a gang war.Two MP-based gunrunners were also arrested after a brief exchange of fire.The accused have been identified as Raja Gautam (26) from Aligarh and Pintu Kashyap (19) from Hathras in UP. According to DCP Pramod Kushwah, the arrested persons sourced firearms and ammunition from MP and supplied them in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and western UP.”The accused have supplied over 400 pistols in Delhi till now. Both have been booked under section 25(8) of the Arms Act,” Kushwah added.The duo was arrested by a team led by inspector Shiv Kumar after tracking gunrunners in MP who were actively supplying weapons in Delhi-NCR.Gautam’s brother, Sagar, is also an arms supplier. Gautam was earlier arrested in a murder case in Haryana, Kushwah added.
