NEW DELHI: Pro-Khalistan posters and spray paint graffiti surfaced in many west Delhi localities on Thursday, sending the cops into a tizzy. The Special Cell of Delhi Police has filed an FIR and begun investigation. “On January 19, in the early morning hours, multiple graffiti raising objectionable slogans appeared in Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Paschim Vihar, Peeragarhi and other parts of west Delhi,” a police spokesperson said. The posters were quickly removed by the local police and the walls were repainted, police said. A case has been filed under IPC sections of promoting enmity between two groups (153-B) and criminal conspiracy (120-B).Police patrolling has been stepped up in these areas and footage from CCTV cameras are being scanned. In one of the footage, some masked people can be seen, sources said. Police personnel are already on their toes ahead of Republic Day because of inputs from intelligence agencies regarding Khalistani outfits planning to disturb peace and harmony in the capital.
