NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday claimed that residents of Delhi had made up their mind to give the responsibility of cleaning Delhi of garbage to AAP and it was fully prepared for the upcoming civic polls. Kejriwal said that during its 15-year tenure at Municipal Corporation of Delhi, BJP had not done a single good work and people of Delhi were unhappy with it. “Delhi gave the responsibility of improving the city’s schools and hospitals to AAP and we transformed them. Now they want to give the responsibility of cleaning the city to us,” Kejriwal said. He also accused BJP of influencing the delimitation exercise to redraw the wards in a way so that it has an edge during the polls. “These people (BJP) tried a lot to postpone the elections. They carried out faulty delimitation of wards. They can do whatever they want, but the people of Delhi are going to reject them,” Kejriwal said in response to a query during a press conference. Comparing BJP with “demons”, the AAP national convener said, “These are all demonic forces, which have gathered to conspire against us. They cannot suppress the public as per their will.” Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta, however, claimed BJP was going to win the corporation elections only on the basis of work. “Despite limited resources, we have done a good job. We are ready to defeat AAP, which is involved in rampant corruption,” he said.
