NEW DELHI: A man was critically injured after being stabbed multiple times by his rival in full public view in a northeast Delhi locality on Thursday. The accused had been nurturing a grudge against the victim for the last two years. According to police, a call was received at 10.40pm about a stabbing incident. By the time a police team reached the location, the man had been rushed to a hospital. The injured was identified as Kasim (20). According to doctors, he had three stab wounds and two abrasions on his body.”The injured person have not given any statement till now as he is not in a condition to speak and feeling drowsy,” said a senior police officer. Kasim was referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre for further treatment. A case for attempt to murder was registered. The accused, Sohaib alias Babu (22), was arrested by police later in the night.Police said the reason behind the incident was an old rivalry between the victim and the accused due to an incident, which occurred two years back. Kasim had allegedly punched Sohaib in the face leading to damaged eye movement and nose defect. From that time Sohaib wanted to take revenge.
