NEW DELHI: A 45-year-old man, who was summoned for inquiry in a cheating case, died after he jumped off the third floor of Kamla Market police station on Sunday, officials said.The deceased, Anand Verma, was a resident of Uttam Nagar, they said, adding the incident took place around 3.20 pm. When he was trying to jump, a few policemen on the ground raised alarm and tried to dissuade him but did not stop, police said. A cheating case was filed against Verma by head constable Ajeet Singh at Kamla Market police station for allegedly taking Rs 14 lakh to get Singh’s relative a job.” Singh told us that Verma was freed after an initial inquiry after he assured that he would return his money,” an officer said, adding Singh has been suspended.
