GHAZIABAD: Two men have been arrested for allegedly ramming their car into a traffic constable near Shipra Mall in Indirapuram and driving for around 2km with the cop clinging to the bonnet. Police are looking for a third accused who was in the car on Friday evening.The trio also hit a biker before their car came to a halt. While two of the occupants were nabbed from the spot itself, the third managed to escape. Ankit Kumar, a head constable with Ghaziabad police, said in his complaint that he and three other cops were carrying out a routine check near the mall at 4.30pm on Friday.”A white Tata Altroz was coming from the highway and it took a turn towards the Shipra mall. The car had three occupants, including the driver who was not wearing a seat belt. When we asked him to stop, he stepped on the accelerator and hit me. I fell on the car’s bonnet. The driver did not stop, but continued for almost 2km as I clung to the bonnet. Later, when the car reached near Amrapali Greens society, the driver crashed into a biker, and eventually came to a halt,” he added.Kumar said as he fell on the road with the sudden brakes, one of the accused managed to escape. “I caught hold of the other two with my colleagues who rushed to my help. The driver was Abhi Tyagi, a resident of Makanpurunder Indirapuram police station,” the constable said.
