The community wants action against officals and people for “harassment” of Shrikant Tyagi and his familyNOIDA: Thousands of people belonging to Tyagi community turned up for mahapanchayat at Ramlila Maidan at Maharishi Ashram in Noida on Sunday. The community is seeking action against officals and people for “harassment” of Shrikant Tyagi and his family. Nitin Tyagi, pradhan of Chaubli village, said they want action against police personnel “who mentally tortured Anu Tyagi (Shrikant Tyagi’s wife)” and withdrawal of charges under Gangsters Act against Tyagi. “Our sister Anu Tyagi was mentally tortured and harassed by Noida police personnel. Isn’t she a woman?, shouldn’t action be taken against those personnel? The police misbehaved with Anu. So, we demand action against them. The BJP has sidelined our community and openly abused us,” Nitin said. He further said that Shrikant was a budding politician and the party has simply sidelined him. Cases against people who met Anu were registered and they were arrested for no reasons. “We are even ready to go to jail but or community won’t stop until our demands are met. The 2024 election will be the downfall of BJP and they will see this. Action against MP Mahesh Sharma should also be taken for abusing our community and the top cop in the same sections as Shrikant,” he said. Action should be taken against people terming Shrikant Tyagi as ‘galibaaz Tyagi’ or ‘badtameez Tyagi’ and tarnishing the image of Tyagi caste and our children might suffer because of this in the future. So, we demand action against such people too. Meanwhile, the estimated turn up at the site is over 10,000 and more people are joining in from different states to support the mahapanchayat called by Tyagi community. The local intelligence unit (LIU) of Noida and police personnel are on their toes to ensure that no trouble-maker takes advantage and tries to create unrest. Nearly 1,500 police officers have been deployed across the city and specially around the Mahrishi Ashram to keep a close watch. FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIAFacebookTwitterInstagramKOO APPYOUTUBE
