GURUGRAM: The city recorded 213 new Covid cases on Tuesday. It had recorded 187 cases on the previous day. The positivity rate rose to 5.2% from 4.9% on Monday. The city currently has 882 active cases, of which 22 patients are hospitalised. The health department conducted 4,080 tests on Tuesday, while 3,628 samples were tested on Monday. The city logged a total of 5,438 cases in July, whereas 8,046 cases were seen in June and 7,619 in May. Haryana, meanwhile, witnessed 623 new cases on Tuesday. The state now has 3,313 active cases while the positivity rate is at 5.3%. One death was reported in the state, 603 patients recovered during the day. The only death of the day was reported from Karnal district. In the past 24 hours, the health authorities collected 15,069 samples for antigen and RT-PCR tests. With this the cumulative Covid count of the state has gone to 10,31,271 cases, 10,17,290 recoveries and 10,645 deaths. Gurugram reported the highest 213 cases, followed by 82 in Panchkula, 51 in Faridabad, 48 in Yamunanagar, 41 in Ambala, 40 in Karnal, 32 in Rohtak, 19 in Sirsa, 17 in Panipat, 14 in Hisar, 13 in Bhiwani and 10 cases from Kurukshetra. Charkhi Dadri did not report any new cases while rest nine districts reported less than 10 cases.. On the vaccination front, first dose was given to 1,971 persons followed by second dose to 6,712 and 16,625 were given the booster dose. With this the cumulative Covid vaccination coverage of the state has gone to 47,73,671.
