At least three labourers are feared to be trapped under the rubble after a building in Gurgaon’s Udyog Vihar Phase-1 collapsed unexpectedly while it was being demolished Monday.
The Udyog Vihar fire station personnel received a rescue call in the morning stating that the building came crashing down during its demolition. While two-three labourers are believed to be stuck under the debris, another labourer, who sustained injuries, was rescued and rushed to the hospital. A team of fire personnel have already reached the spot and initiated rescue operations.

Police suspect that the building, an old factory, collapsed after a wall caved in while the labourers were razing it.
“It was an old building that was being demolished since September 26. Of the total three floors, two had already been demolished. The remaining part collapsed under which three labourers have been trapped. One person has already been rescued,” news agency ANI quoted DCP (West) Deepak Saharan as saying.

State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams too have reached the spot to assist the fire personnel in the rescue operations, ANI reported.
