NEW DELHI: Delhi Police arrested a 24-year-old snatcher who stabbed a head constable in Bawana on Thursday. The injured cop, to catch him, opened fire at him. The accused, Irshad, received a bullet injury on his leg. He is involved in 30 criminal cases, police said. The cops said that at 10.30am, head constable Chetan got information that Irshad was roaming around with his partner in Bawana. Deputy commissioner of police (outer-north) Brijendra Kumar Yadav said Chetan and constable Pradeep reached Bawana sector-1. “They saw the accused with his partner on a high-end bike. After they spotted the cops, the accused tired to flee,” the DCP said. The cops drove in front of their motorcycle and both the accused fell from the bike. One of the accused then stabbed Chetan.
