NEW DELHI: Delhi Police is likely to seek a polygraph or a narcoanalysis test of the five accused to help them determine why they drove away after hitting the scooty which Anjali and her friend, Nidhi, were riding on.The cops also want to ascertain why they drove around after the accident without any fear of getting caught and didn’t return the car to its owner immediately. The accused have claimed they were “killing time” so that they didn’t have to disturb the car owner at 2am. According to the police, one of the accused, Deepak Khanna, was driving the Baleno that belonged to his friend, Ashutosh, a resident of Rohini. The cops are, however, not buying their claims. “The investigation is focusing on conclusively checking out things like their claim that they didn’t realise that a body was stuck underneath. Prima facie, it appears that the woman’s face was towards the middle or boot of the car. Her limbs and belt were stuck at the front, said an official. However, bloodstains were found on other parts also under the car.Officials from FSL, Rohini, said there were no sign of the woman inside the car. “Blood samples of the occupants have also reached the FSL,” an official added.CCTV footage: Girl dies after car hits her two-wheeler, drags her for 4 kilometresMeanwhile, police have recorded the statement of the Oyo hotel’s manager and staff that Anjali had visited before the accident. The cops have also questioned a male friend who was present in the hotel. The hotel has shared the CCTV footage of a scuffle between them. The occupants of other rooms are seen objecting to the commotion after which the staff asked them to leave. As per the footage of the CCTV cameras located close to Nidhi’s house, the timing of her return home is 1.36am, but police clarified the CCTV DVR was running 45-50 minutes slow. Similarly, the footage recorded outside the hotel when Nidhi and Anjali were leaving shows the timing of the women leaving as 1.32am but police have clarified this CCTV DVR was running 15 minutes late.
