NEW DELHI: The domestic breeding checkers (DBC) have threatened an indefinite strike from November 1 amid the dengue season if their demand of getting a proper post as multitask staff is not met by Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). “We held a protest on October 21, but despite written assurances from MCD officials, there has been no progress,” said Devanand Sharma, president of Anti-Malaria Ekta Karamchari Union. MCD officials of the public health department claimed the proposal for creating vacancies was sent to the Delhi government last year. Around 3,500 DBC workers will start the indefinite strike at Civic Centre, the MCD headquarters.
