AAP workers protest near BJP headquartersNEW DELHI: Continuing its attack against BJP over the FIR filed in the excise policy case against deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and the raids on the latter’s office and residence, the Aam Aadmi Party went on protest on Saturday. The party planned to demonstrate at the BJP headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg but was stopped by police near its own office, less than a kilometre away. Shouting slogans and carrying placards, the AAP workers sought to know what the CBI recovered in the raid at Sisodia’s office and residence. Rajendra Nagar MLA Durgesh Pathak alleged the central government wanted to defame AAP and put CBI after Sisodia to implicate him in a fake case. “BJP has been rattled by AAP’s decision to contest the Gujarat assembly polls. They know their fort of 27 years is falling, and in panic are making such efforts to defame AAP,” claimed Pathak, adding that Gujarat’s people were fed up with the saffron party’s “misrule”. Pathak said after over a week of the CBI raids, neither the agency nor BJP was able to reveal anything about the recoveries made. “What has CBI found against Sisodia after 10 days of investigation? AAP is the most honest party in the world and its leaders the most truthful,” Pathak said. He added that Sisodia was being hounded merely for being a loyal soldier of CM Arvind Kejriwal. AAP MLAs Sanjeev Jha and Kuldeep Kumar, who recently claimed to have been approached to switch sides for Rs 20 crore each, accused the saffron party’s top leadership of “conspiring” to topple the Kejriwal government in Delhi. “Since you are going to suffer a miserable defeat in Gujarat elections, you are trying to intimidate AAP ministers and MLAs and leaders using CBI-ED raids,” Jha accused. “But you must remember that we emerged from a movement and we aren’t going to be intimidated by such tricks. This time you will face an honest party and we will pin you to the mat.” FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIAFacebookTwitterInstagramKOO APPYOUTUBE
