NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by a group of people after an argument in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar area on Monday. Police said the victim was stabbed eight times in front of his brother. Five people, including a juvenile, were apprehended. The deceased was identified as Balram Mishra, who lived on Rama Road and was unemployed. He earlier worked as a cab driver and was stabbed in his stomach, chest, legs and hands. At 11.30 pm, police received a call from the victim’s brother about the incident. DCP (west) Ghanshyam Bansal said Mishra was declared brought dead at the hospital. The victim’s brother told cops that a quarrel took place between his brother and one Bunty after which Bunty and his associates assaulted his brother with knives and also fired upon him. “The victim and Bunty were known to each other and they had quarrels in the past over dominance in the area,” police said. During the investigation, four accused were arrested and the juvenile was apprehended from Moti Nagar. Apart from Bunty and the juvenile, the other accused were identified as Sarjeet (25), Rahul (19) and Sandhu (20), all residents of Moti Nagar. In another case, a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death by five juveniles. Police said, on Monday, they received a call regarding a stabbing at block-16 in Trilokpuri. The deceased identified as Tushar was declared brought dead at the hospital. He was a resident of Trilokpuri. Based on eyewitnesses and analysis of CCTV footage, cops found that five juveniles were involved in the murder. A team led by SHO (Mayur Vihar) Sanjeev Kumar Verma apprehended three juveniles in the case. DCP (east) Priyanka Kashyap said an initial inquiry revealed that the victim and assailants were known to each other. On Monday, they had an altercation over some issue which turned into a scuffle and the victim was stabbed.
