NEW DELHI: Repair work on the Chirag Dilli flyover has been completed and the flyover will be fully opened to commuters from April 26, Public Works Department minister Atishi said on Tuesday.”Due to frequent rain in the past month, the flyover maintenance work had to be halted several times. However, PWD showed its commitment by working round the clock and completing the work ahead of the schedule,” said the minister. Providing relief from traffic jams to the people of Delhi is the Kejriwal government’s top priority. Now that the work on both carriageways has been completed, the flyover will be open for traffic from tomorrow, Atishi said.”We are proud that PWD has taken another step forward in the direction of making Delhi traffic jam-free,” the minister added.She further said that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal himself kept a close watch on the maintenance work of the flyover.Vehicles can now move smoothly on the stretch, said an official. On April 24, TOI reported that the repair work on Chirag Dilli flyover had been completed.
