NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old woman has alleged that she was sexually assaulted, thrashed, and robbed in south Delhi’s Maidan Garhi area on August 28. Police on Wednesday said they have registered a case of gang rape. The woman told cops that she went to a temple for prayer when a man came there by jumping through a wall. At gunpoint, he took her to the back side of the temple where his associate was already waiting. She further said that he asked his associate to keep an eye on the movement of people and alert him if anyone comes. The accused sexually assaulted the woman even as she was crying for help. When his associate alerted him that someone was coming, the accused snatched a gold chain from the woman’s neck and fled the spot. “While they were escaping, a card fell from one of the accused’s pocket in which press was written,” police said. Meanwhile, in another case, a girl studying at a school in Rohini alleged that she was being sexually harassed by another student of her school in Rohini. Police have registered a case in this regard. (The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
