Image used for representative purpose onlyNOIDA: Two phone snatchers were arrested after a brief exchange of fire in Sector 98 on Tuesday morning. The two miscreants, identified as Bhura and Akash, residents of Chalera village in Noida, were arrested under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 392 (robbery) of the IPC along with the Arms Act. Police recovered three mobile phones along with a countrymade pistol and cartridges from their possessions. The police received information about two bike-borne miscreants trying to snatch a mobile phone of a pedestrian near Sector 105 around 6am. “We immediately sent a team to trace the miscreants. During checking near Sector 98, two men on a bike were asked to stop. However, instead of stopping, the miscreants sped away,” said Ashutosh Dwivedi, additional deputy commissioner of police, Noida. “The police fired at the miscreants in retaliation,” Dwivedi added.
