GHAZIABAD: Two new police stations-Crossings Republik and Wave City-were opened on Wednesday after ADG (Meerut) Rajeev Sabharwal inaugurated both police stations. Now, there are 23 police stations in Ghaziabad, including 14 in rural areas and 9 in urban areas. Last year, the then SSP Kalanidhi Naithani sent a proposal to the state government for setting up police stations in Wave City and Crossings Republik due to the high population. There are three police chowkies here, including Crossings Republik, Behrampur and Bypass. There is one SHO, a senior sub-inspector, 13 sub-inspectors, 10 head constables, 30 constables and one computer operator,” said Sabharwal. Meanwhile, over 2 lakh people live in Wave City. “There are police chowkies here namely Wave police chowki, Dudhiya peepal chowki, Dasna chowki and Lal Kuan. There is one SHO, 12 sub-inspectors, one woman inspector, 18 head constables, 18 constables, 3 women constables and one computer operator in this police station,” added the ADG.
