NEW DELHI: A 50-year-old woman was shot at allegedly by a minor girl in Bhajanpura in northeast Delhi on Saturday. Police said she had also registered a case against the woman’s son for allegedly sexually assaulting her two years ago. The woman has been admitted to GTB Hospital.At about 5.30 pm, police received a call that a girl had shot a woman at Subhash Mohalla in North Ghonda. A team from the local police station reached the spot and found that the victim had been taken to a hospital by local residents. “The victim is a resident of Subhash Mohalla and runs a grocery shop,” an officer said.During the investigation, the cops found that the girl aged around 16 came to her shop and shot the woman with a pistol. People, after hearing the gunshot, rushed to the woman’s shop and found her lying. They took her to a nearby hospital. After initial treatment at the hospital, the woman was shifted to GTB Hospital.After the incident, the minor fled the scene but was apprehended later. The weapon of offence was recovered. “The woman was shot in her stomach. We are trying to ascertain from where the girl got the pistol,” the officer said.Police said they had initiated legal action in the case.In the year 2021, a case was registered on the girl’s complaint against the victim’s son under sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 376 (rape) of the IPC and 4 Pocso Act.
