Till late on Monday evening, no complaint had been lodged by the girls’ parents. Police, however, have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. The girl’s grandfather said they received a call from the authorities at Shri Ram Millennium School around 8.15am that the Class IV student had suffered an injury and was being taken to the hospital.”Her father dropped her at school around 8am. A few minutes later, we got a call from the school and rushed to the hospital. When we reached, we got the shock of our lives. We were told that my granddaughter was no more. How could that be? She was hale and hearty in the morning,” her grandfather said. The girl’s parents were too traumatised to speak to the media. Police said her father was a businessman. Footage from the school’s CCTV cameras shows the girl walking towards her class when she loses balance and slumps to the ground near the stairs. A few seconds later, the school staff can be seen rushing towards her. The autopsy report has found a minor injury to the forehead of the girl. The report has been sent to another lab to ascertain the cause of death. “Her forehead had an injury, which could be from the fall. Other than that, there is no external injury. Her stomach had food. We can comment properly only after receiving the report from the lab,” said Dr Sudhir Kumar, who carried out the autopsy. The school came out with a statement later in the day. “She was immediately given necessary medical support and first-aid by and was rushed to the hospital immediately, where she could not be revived by the doctors unfortunately.” FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIAFacebookTwitterInstagramKOO APPYOUTUBE
