The complainant, identified as Chandrakant Thakkar and a resident of Sector 65 was looking online for home delivery options for alcohol. Thakkar dialled a number that was available online. The accused asked for an advance payment of Rs 50 for the confirmation of the order. The accused sent his Paytm details, and as soon as Thakkar sent Rs 50 via credit card, another deduction of Rs 2 lakh took place. An FIR has been lodged at the cyber police station under relevant sections of the IT Act. Police said that most cyber thugs mostly send spurious links through which they get access to bank details.
