During investigation it was found that a container truck was moving in front of the bus and it suddenly applied brakes. Due to dense fog, the driver of the bus also applied sudden breaks but it lost control and went off road, hitting the railing of the expressway and falling off the road,” said Abhishek Verma, deputy commissioner of police, Noida. The officer said that there were around 60 passengers in the bus and around 15 people have been injured. “One of the passenger died during treatment while the injured are currently admitted at a nearby hospital for treatment,” Verma said, adding that 2-3 people are critical. According to data from district transport department, from January to November 2022, Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 390 deaths due to road accidents and 756 injuries due to road accidents and 1002 road accidents.
