GURUGRAM: A 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed with a broken beer bottle in Sector 30 by four inebriated youths when he tried to save his friend from their clutches, police said on Tuesday. The victim, Aman Sheoran, who works for a private firm, told police that he and his friend, Varun Bhakar (26), drove to a 24-hours store at 1.15 am on November 2. While Bhakar waited in the car, Sheoran went into the shop for purchases. When the latter returned to the car, he saw four youths attacking his friend. “I saw four inebriated youths holding beer bottles thrashing my friend,” Sheoran told police in his complaint. After Sheoran intervened to save Bhakar, the four youths allegedly overpowered him, thrashed him, threatened him with dire consequences and used abusive language. One of the accused broke a beer bottle on his head and stabbed him with the sharp edge of the bottle, inflicting injuries on his head and belly. “After that, they thought I was dead and fled from the spot. I have requested cops to check CCTV footage of the incident,” Sheoran said. “We got a complaint on Monday about an incident on November 2 and registered an FIR,” Sector 40 SHO Satish Kumar said. The FIR includes IPC sections 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention). Police have launched a hunt to arrest them.
