GURUGRAM: Police have arrested a former employee of a private company for allegedly stalking, harassing and threatening its manager after he was sacked by her. The complainant, a 30-year-old woman, said Yogender Singh (in his 30s) had joined the firm as a consultant on April 7 earlier this year. He was fired on June 13, in a decision taken by the company due to his unsatisfactory work, but it was the manager’s responsibility to break it to him, she said. After he was sacked, the former consultant started stalking her and sent her threats of dire consequences on SMS and e-mails, she alleged. Police said Yogender, a resident of Gurugram, was arrested on Thursday. “He was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody,” said Ved Prakash, SHO, Sadar police station. He has been booked under sections 354-D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
