NOIDA: A 26-year-old woman security guard posted at the Noida stadium in Sector 21A was allegedly attacked with a knife by a man on Friday morning. The security guard’s condition is stable and the accused has been arrested from the stadium. Police said that the woman and the accused are known to each other for more than a year. As per police officials, the female security guard, a native of Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, is married and mother of two children. She lived with her family under Sector 24 police station jurisdiction in Noida.“On Friday around 6.30am, the woman reported for duty at the stadium when the accused, identified as Pramod who works as a labourer, attacked her with a knife in her neck. The woman sustained injury and was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment,” said a senior police officer of Sector 24 police station. The officer further informed that a case under Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused. He will be produced before the court on Saturday.“Preliminary investigations show that the woman and accused were friends and used to talk each other on a regular basis for more than a year. However, due to some dispute the accused attacked her in a fit of rage,” the officer added.
