NOIDA: Allowing DJs to play music at weddings or parties only till prescribed time and within noise limits, increased patrolling in sensitive places as per a dedicated roster, tenant verification by house owners, checking on the elderly, as well as challans for wrong-side driving and checks on unnecessary parking in societies, sectors or markets in special drives by the traffic cell, were among the directives issued by police commissioner (CP) Laxmi Singh ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations on Saturday evening.In a meeting with the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations’ (FONRWA) office-bearers in the CP office in Sector 108 on Saturday, Laxmi Singh heard about the problems in residential sectors and directed officers concerned to take appropriate action to solve the same, said KK Jain, secretary general of FONRWA.ACP (law and order) Ravi Shankar Chhavi, ACP (headquarters) Bharti Singh, DCP (Noida) Harish Chander, DCP (Central Noida) Rambadan Singh, DCP (traffic) Ganesh Prasad, ACP (crime) and staff officer Anil Kumar Yadav attended the meeting.”While she directed increased patrolling through dedicated patrolling rosters identifying sensitive places under the commissionerate, she also instructed house owners to complete tenant verification,” said Jain.To reduce traffic snarls, the CP directed the DCP (traffic) to take action against illegal vehicles and challan vehicles on the wrong side of roads. “Also, we will prepare a route map for auto drivers and install traffic signals at the main congestion points,” said a spokesperson from the traffic cell.Singh also directed proposals for footover bridges wherever required and asked all officers/station-in-charges to deal gently with complainants visiting police stations and quickly redress their complaints.
