NEW DELHI: Delhi University (DU) is set to hold its annual placement and internship fair on March 21 and 22 for students of the varsity. Officials said around 30 companies are likely to be a part of the placement and internship drive this year.Pankaj Arora, dean of social welfare, said, “Only those students who are enrolled in full-time, regular undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are eligible to participate. Those from the School of Open Learning (SOL) are not eligible to participate in this job mela.”Students interested are required to register themselves on an online form shared by the university. Officials said the last date for registration is likely to be March 15.Elaborating on the kind of jobs on offer, Arora said, “A wide range of companies usually visit these drives, be it multinationals or local companies. Last year too there was a vast variety of companies including popular eating joints or those that offered accounting jobs or even those related to carrying out fieldwork and research.”According to officials, around 25 companies visited last year, and for this year’s placement drive the university is aiming for more. The varsity saw around 4,000 registrations last year, and the highest placement package offered was around Rs 6.5 lakh per annum. For internships, over Rs 20,000 per month was offered.
