NEW DELHI: Intensifying its election campaign, Aam Aadmi Party has decided to give “10 guarantees”, the minimum assured work it will do for Delhiites living in MCD areas, if it wins the elections. The ‘Kejriwal ki 10-guarantee’ campaign will be launched by the AAP national convener and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Kejriwal to review the party’s poll preparedness. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, AAP Delhi state convener Gopal Rai and other senior MLAs and office-bearers of the party attended the meeting. Among the major promises that are likely to be part of the “guarantee” are garbage disposal, removal of building mafia, better environment for traders to function and a solution to the stray cattle problem. Sisodia said people were actively seeking governance in MCD that could rid them of maladministration, corruption, garbage mountains and mismanagement. Alleging that the BJP-led MCD had ruined Delhi, Sisodia said there was garbage in every nook and corner, small traders were being harassed and exploited, apart from the building mafia problem. “We discussed in detail what the party can do for the common man through MCD. It was decided that AAP’s highly successful Kejriwal Ki Guarantee campaign will be launched for MCD too,” he added. Talking about candidate selection, the deputy CM said surveys were being conducted to assess every application the party had received from ticket-seekers. “All applications are being dealt with in a very professional manner after which the list of candidates will be announced,” he added.
