NEW DELHI: Delhi police has arrested two alleged cyber cheats from Alwar, Rajasthan, who would use fake profile pictures of people on WhatsApp and demand money from their relatives. Police said the duo also indulged in duping people on the pretext of selling vehicles online, impersonating as army personnel.The arrested men have been identified as Javed Khan (19) and Amit Kumar (23), both residents of Alwar.According to the police, on January 19, a complaint was received in which the complainant alleged that someone was using his pictures on WhatsApp as display picture and has been demanding money from his relatives and friends.On this, a case was registered and it was found that mobile number used by the suspects was linked to another case in which they had projected themselves as army officers and cheated someone of Rs. 47,000 on an e-commerce website. Immediately, a team raided the identified location and managed to nab Kumar, and later Khan as well, police said.
