GHAZIABAD: A 26-year-old man returning home from work died after his scooter was hit by a vehicle near Vaishali metro station late on Sunday night.Aman Kumar Verma, a resident of Shalimar Garden, worked as a chef at a three-star hotel in Sahibabad. Police said they were informed about the accident by a passerby around 1am. “Our team reached the spot and found Aman Verma lying in the middle of the road near the metro station, oozing blood,” said Maneesh Bisht, the SHO of Link Road police station.Aman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A preliminary probe suggested that Aman fell off the scooter after being hit by the vehicle from behind and suffered grievous injuries to the head, police said. “CCTV footage of the area is being examined to identify the vehicle that sped away after the accident,” Bisht said.
