NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man, Jasvinder, was shot at by three snatchers in east Delhi’s Krishna Nagar on Sunday. According to police, all three accused were riding a bike and tried to snatch the gold chain of a woman, who was travelling in an e-rickshaw. During this time Jasvinder, who was on a scooter, saw the snatching bid. He came close to the spot. The accused thought he wanted to interfere in their snatching bid and one of them shot at him.Jasvinder lives with his family in Krishna Nagar and works as a driver. Police said they received a PCR call at 3.34pm about a man being shot at. A team from the local police station reached the spot and took the victim to a hospital. During inquiry, it was found that three snatchers had come on a bike and were trying to snatch the woman’s chain, but she was resisting the attempt. Onlookers also noticed the incident and started creating an uproar. This unnerved the accused and when they saw Jasvinder also coming close they shot at him.Deputy commissioner of police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena said they have registered a case. “We have formed multiple teams in the case and are scanning CCTV footage. The victim is out of danger,” he said.Meanwhile, Jasvinder’s employer, Jugal Arora said Jasvinder will undergo an operation on Monday, as the bullet is still inside his body. “”One of the shopkeepers informed me about the incident. He told me that my driver has been shot,” said Arora.
