NOIDA: Gautam Budh Nagar reported 135 new Covid cases on Monday, with the number of active cases crossing the 1,000 mark. Currently, 26 patients are undergoing treatment at various facilities while the rest are in home isolation. In GB Nagar, more than 2,500 tests are performed daily, with the positivity rate at 5.4% on Monday. “The sudden rise in Covid cases can be attributed to the change in weather. The number of patients visiting the hospital OPDs with fever, cough and cold-like symptoms has increased significantly. When tested for Covid, many are found positive. In patients in home isolation, as well as in hospitals, the symptoms are mild. None has reported restlessness or lung involvement,” said Dr Manoj Kushwaha, surveillance officer, GB Nagar. Neighbouring Ghaziabad reported 117 new Covid cases on Monday, with the number of active cases reaching 573. Out of the 117 cases, nine patients are between 13-20 years of age, 57 between 21-40 years, 35 between 41-60 and 16 above 60. As many as 483 patients are recovering in home isolation, and 19 are in the Covid facilities. More than 3,100 samples got tested on Monday, with the district reporting a positivity rate of 3.1% .
