AMBALA: Seven people died while about 10 others sustained injuries after the bus in which they were travelling in was hit by a speeding trailer from the rear near Kakkar Majra village in Shahzadpur area of Ambala district on Friday morning.The deceased were identified as Jwala (34), his wife Rinki (32), his sons Prince (8) and Prashant (6), Raheesh Khan, and Badan Singh, all residents of Uttar Pradesh (UP) while the identity of one deceased is yet to be ascertained.The passengers travelling in the bus were mostly labourers.Police said that the private bus was on its way from Uttar Pradesh to Baddi in Himachal Pradesh.On the complaint of one Subhash Chand, a resident of Kakkar Majra village, a case was registered against trailer driver Chander Mohan and bus driver Fukran, both residents of UP.Subhash said in his complaint that he had gone for a morning walk around 4.30am when he saw that a private bus was stationed without indicator and parking light and the occupants of the bus were getting off. Meanwhile, a trailer hit the bus from the rear side and due to the impact, both the vehicles overturned.“The trailer driver fell asleep at the wheel and lost control over the vehicle. A case has been registered and further investigation was on,” a police officer said.
