NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by six men on three motorcycles in Aya Nagar on Wednesday night. While police said it was the fallout of a property dispute, his family alleged that the victim was a witness in the murder case of his nephew.According to police, a call was received at 7:58pm stating that at least five rounds were fired at a house located in Baba Mohalla. Surender sustained at least three bullet wounds and later passed away at a hospital. A case of murder and arms act has been registered.Surender is survived by his wife and three children. He used to work at a private firm and also take care of the shop on his off days.As per his family members, six people on three motorcycles came outside his shop. The pillion riders got down on the pretext of buying some items from the shop. The trio then opened fire at him. While cops said a long-standing property dispute triggered the crime, the family members alleged the accused, Bittu, had threatened Surender in the past as well.”Bittu had shot dead his nephew Harish in 2008 for which Bittu and his associate were jailed too. Surender was an eyewitness in the murder case. Around 3-4 months back, the court had discharged all of them and Bittu came out of the jail,” said Praveen, a relative of the deceased.
