By Amit KumarKARNAL: Four people — including three women and one minor girl — were killed while 15 others sustained injuries when the tractor-trolley they were traveling in overturned after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Jhattipur village on National Highway 44 in Haryana’s Panipat on Friday morning. According to the police, the accident took place at around 5am when they were returning from Chulkana Dham in Panipat after performing worship.The deceased have been identified as Savitri (45), Sudesh (36), Kamlesh (38) and Charu (11) of Ujha village in the district.The injured have been identified as Pinki (21), Preeti (9), Ashish (34), Kajal (25), Rakshit (6), Sonia (25), Rakesh (32), Vivek (13), Nisha (15), Kamlesh (34), Asha (12) and four others. Police said that a group of pilgrims from Ujha village went to Khatu Shyam Dham situated in Chulkana village — where three days of Falgun Mahotav began on Thursday — to perform the worship. On Friday morning, they were returning to the village in a tractor- trolley. When they reached near Jhattipur village, the trolley overturned after an unidentified vehicle hit it, leaving them badly injured.The injured were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared three women brought dead. Investigation officer Kaptan Singh said that a case has been registered against the unidentified vehicle driver under sections 279, 304A, 337 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code. The bodies have been handed over to the family members after the postmortem examinations.
