GHAZIABAD: Two persons were arrested on Thursday for allegedly attacking three men with a razor during a fight between two groups in Modinagar. One of the victims is in a critical condition. Police said both groups were drunk when they accidentally collided with each other. Ritesh Tripathi, ACP of Modinagar, said, “At 12.15am on Wednesday, the victims — Ravi, Anuj and Akash—and the accused—Sanju and Rajesh ( both residents of Modinagar)—bumped into each other and a heated argument ensued. It turned into a physical fight when Sanju found a razor on the ground. He attacked the men with it and fled the spot with Rajesh.”Police said the victims had first named Sameer and Altaf for the attack, but their probe showed a black Scorpio at the spot. “The vehicle owner is Avinash Tyagi, who informed that he saw five people fighting outside his house. On being asked to identify Sameer and Altaf, Tyagi refused their involvement in the crime,” the ACP added.Police, after further surveillance, arrested Sanju and Rajesh and filed an FIR against them under IPC sections 147 (rioting) and 307 (attempt to murder) at Modinagar police station.
