NOIDA: An 18-year-old youth was allegedly beaten with sticks and thrown off the second floor of a building by his employer who accused him of theft at his gym in Behlolpur village on Friday night.Police said the youth, Shiva Sharma, was declared brain-dead at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.Shiva’s employer, Neeraj Yadav, and his friend were booked following a complaint by the 18-year-old’s family.”Shiva worked at the gym as a cleaner. On Saturday, his brother approached the Sector 63 police station and alleged that Neeraj and his friend, Arun Yadav, had beaten up his brother badly,” said Amit Pratap Singh, the AC.Shiva lived with his brother and his wife at the same building in the village that housed the gym. Neeraj and his friend allegedly beat up Shiva in the gym on the suspicion of theft and then thrashed again with sticks around 10pm on Friday.In order to save himself, Shiva ran to the second floor of the building. “They grabbed him from behind and then threw him on to the road below. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but was referred to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi. We have come to know that the building is owned by Neeraj and Shiva, his brother and his wife stayed there as tenants. Shiva also worked as a cleaner at the gym,” Singh said.The senior officer said that doctors at Safdarjung had declared Shiva brain-dead. “A case has been registered against Neeraj and Arun under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code. The section would change to 302 (murder) if the doctors declare him dead. Three teams are working to nab the two accused,” the ACP said.
